Feeling like you are suffocating in your career? Today I’m going to share my 4 secrets to get a promotion at work.

Work takes up nearly half our waking lives and being in a job where your contribution isn’t recognised or rewarded can be soul destroying. This is an issue well worth sorting out and today I am sharing 4 secrets that helped progress my career and score the job of my dreams.

Before we get started, download the FREE cheat sheet below and let’s do this!

1 | GET CONFIDENT

This is something that we all need! We all need to feel as though our work is valued and that we are growing.

Often times we are overlooked for a promotion as we fail to realise what’s needed to progress to the next level. The first secret to get a promotion at work is to be confident you can do the job you want.

2 | DEALING WITH DIFFICULT PEOPLE

To get a promotion at work, your boss will be looking for someone who is able to deal with difficult people and be able to handle tricky situations. This will mean standing up for yourself and what you believe is the best course of action.

The fact is, it will be hard to speak up that first time. Yet the more often you do it, the more empowered you will become for standing up for what you believe in.

3 | LOVE THE DAY-TO-DAY GRIND

We all have goals and dreams, but it can be difficult to stick with them if we don’t get authentic results. The daily grind can get repetitive and can feel like we aren’t getting anywhere quickly.

If you look at the people who are consistently achieving their goals, you start to realize that it’s not the events or the results that make them different. It’s their commitment to the process; the daily grind.

Loving the daily grind will lead to a promotion at work.

4 | MASTER YOUR TIME

We all have the same 24 hours, how can we actually use them more effectively?

My top secret when it comes to mastering your time is to allocate a chunk of time to only work on a single project for a limited time. No interruptions and no FaceBook notifications during that time.

Working towards a promotion will take hard work and consistent action and a good dose of confidence.
