When summer starts to emerge, I look in the mirror and I’m frequently horrified to see how ghastly white I have become during the winter months.
As much as I love the UK, I do miss have that sun-kissed look and golden glow that comes with living in a sweltering hot country, so my only other alternative is to turn to some good old self-tan products. I love to have a bit of a summer glow on the skin and as I have a yellow based skin tone, most of the self-tanners I have tried give me a nice golden glow.
So keep on reading to find out what top summer products you need for glowing skin.
CC Cream. A recent discovery of mine is IT Cosmetics. After reading a review by Anna from The Anna Edit on the Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+, I was really interested. I’m normally the kind of gal that slathers on a matt foundation, matt base and matt everything else as my skin is oily. But since living in a colder climate country, my skin has normalised. So, I’ve given the matt finish products the boot and tried the CC Cream in Fair. The coverage is light to medium but the glow it gives your skin is really something special. It’s become one of my top summer products for glowing skin.
Suncream. Growing up in the sweltering heat of Australia, you learn a thing or two about protecting your skin and for my face, an everyday sun cream with an SPF of 50+ is a must. I’m starting to age and seeing wrinkles and sunspots creeping in, which are probably the result of spending my twenties at the beach surfing, every chance I could get. I recently purchased La Roche-Posay’s Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid SPF 50+ and this has to be the nicest SPF I have used on my face. It’s not oily, doesn’t have that horrid suncream smell and has a mat finish.
Exfoliation. Another of my top summer products is the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask. It’s perfect to use before applying any tanning products as it takes away any dry skin and gives your face a good exfoliation. It smells so nice I want to eat it.
Tanners. Then finally, let’s talk about self-tanners. There are two old favourites’ that I always use. For face is the L’Oréal Paris Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Dry Mist for Face as its a light mist that can be applied under your moisturizer and gives a lovely golden glow in just a few hours. Then for my body, each day I mix the L’Oréal Paris Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Milk For Body with the Neutrogena Visibly Renew Elasti-Boost Body Lotion for perfect all over hydration during my morning routine. This combination creates glowing skin that doesn’t look like you’ve gone and overdosed on spray-tan. After these two bottles run out, I want to replace them with an organic product and keen to try Beauty By Earth Natural Self Tanner. Has anyone used it before? I’ve read lots of great reviews so far and keen to give it a try.
