You are in your first job and want to get to the next level but don’t know how. You keep doing the same boring tasks, over and over again. You no longer feel challenged and sure aren’t appreciated for the job you do.
If this sounds like you then keep reading my friends, I’ve got 4 simple tips that have worked for me and will also work for you when you want to grow in your career. Why forge ahead trying to figure it out alone when you can learn a shortcut and replicate the same results?
It is so easy to lose your excitement over a job you once loved. Somewhere along the line, you lost the passion you once had for your not so amazing job.
When looking back into how I grew in my career, it took a lot of courage, mistakes, step backs and many tears. Especially when I was just starting my career.
It wasn’t until I took small consistent action on a daily basis that I started to see results in my own career. So let’s get started and look in the 4 simple ways to grow your career.
1 | GET CONFIDENT
This is something that we all need! We all need to feel as though our work is valued and that we are growing.
Often times we are overlooked for a promotion as we fail to realise what’s needed to progress to the next level. The first simple way to grow in your career is to be confident. This comes from within and you can manifest it yourself.
2 | DEALING WITH DIFFICULT PEOPLE
To get a promotion at work, your boss will be looking for someone who is able to deal with difficult people and be able to handle tricky situations. This will mean standing up for yourself and what you believe is the best course of action.
The fact is, it will be hard to speak up that first time. Yet the more often you do it, the more empowered you will become for standing up for what you believe in.
3 | LOVE THE DAY-TO-DAY GRIND
But in reality, all we have is this exact moment, we will never have it again. So you might as well enjoy it, regardless if you are doing something that may seem boring.
4 | TIME MANAGEMENT
We all have the same 24 hours, how can we actually use them more effectively?
My top secret when it comes to mastering your time is to allocate a chunk of time to only work on a single project for a limited time. No interruptions and no FaceBook notifications during that time.
If you want to grow in your career, you can start the process today. This can be done by being confident in who you are and the skills you have, loving the process and standing up for yourself.
