With spring just around the corner, it’s time to start planning a spring capsule wardrobe update and my current style wish-list. When it gets to this time of year in London, I’m kinda over the long grey days and bundling up in huge coats and chunky scarfs.
I’m lucky enough to work in a casual office, so there are no suit pieces needed and my ‘work wear’ transitions to dressy weekend wear. Now that I’m no longer pregnant, I can ditch the pregnancy clothes *does little happy dance* and can add in some investment pieces.
Without further ado, here’s my current style wish-list.
I already have a few pairs of strappy sandals, I practically live in my cognac ones, but not any that are wedges. Now that I’m a Mum, my shoe collection has taken a turn from his stilettos to a mid-height practical heel. It’s all about practicality but still looking pulled together. But just don’t look too closely as you are bound to notice baby spew on my collar – ha!
BLOUSES WITH INTERESTING DETAILS
After following Mary Orton on Instagram, I have a slight obsession with blouses. She always makes them look classy and her outfits are always on point. This capsule wardrobe my goal is to add a few more blouses that have either interesting details and patterns or a mixture. I really need to get away from my comfort zone of plain tops!
BOLD PENCIL SKIRTS
When it comes to skirts, the pencil skirt is the most flattering for my figure. I’ve got an authentic figure, that’s not that curvy but not that rectangle something in between and find that the pencil silhouette works best, not to mention it’s also comfortable when the fabric is stretchy.
Skinny jeans are my go-to style of jeans so I always spend a bit of extra time searching for just the right pair. Uniqlo do a fabulous skinny jean, which is a nice thick material (and not see through!); I’ve had their white pair with slight rips at the knee on my wish-list for over a year. I still have a way to go before getting back to my pre-baby figure so hopefully, in the next few months I will get there and can add those white jeans to my collection.
I’m a huge fan of Pinterest and you can often find me pinning outfits ideas each day, especially ideas for a casual office style.
