TED Talks are a great way to gain a new perspective, inspire yourself and see the world in a new way and today I’ve got 4 must watch Ted Talks for women in business.
They are a new discovery for me and watching one at the start of the week gets me focused and in results mode. Here are my top 4:
1. Brené Brown: The Power of Vulnerability
Brené Brown studies human connection and is an avid researcher on the ability to empathize, belong and love.
Her talk is funny and charming where she shares a deep insight into being vulnerable and her own experience. Her book Daring Greatly is cued up ready on my Audible wish list!
2. Arianna Huffington: How to succeed? Get more sleep!
Arianna’s humour and simple idea kept me glued to this TED Talk.
We all know that we should get enough sleep each night but somehow hearing it from the Co-Founder and Editor-In-Chief of The Huffington Post made me really listen.
Her key message is that we can sleep our way to increased productivity, happiness and smarter decision-making which forms the basis of her book Thrive.
3. Sheryl Sandberg: Why We Have Too Few Women Leaders
In her TED Talk, she offers three powerful pieces of advice to women aiming for the corner office and how women are unconsciously sabotaging their careers. I loved the lesson about leaning in at the table and being an active participant, it is one lesson that really resonated with me from Lean In.
4. John Wooden: The Difference Between Winning and Succeeding
John Wooden led UCLA to record wins that are still unmatched in the world of basketball. In his talk, he shares the values and life lessons he passed to his players. He emphases that success is much more than winning and urges us all to pursue the best in ourselves. Read his autobiography here They Call Me Coach.
